Roads
The Public Works Department is responsible for road maintenance that generally consists of the upkeep of municipal roadways including but not limited to snowplowing, sanding, salting, grading, surface repair, ditch maintenance, culvert maintenance, roadside mowing, brushing, dust control, shoulder repair, bridge maintenance, catch basin maintenance, street sweeping in designated areas.

Responsibilities of this department include the enforcement of on-street and off-street parking, town docks and parks, animal control, noise control, burning, clean yards and other regulatory by-laws. By-law Officers are also responsible for reviewing and issuing business licences and operating a pound for dogs picked up while running at large.
